Day 1. Arrival
 
Warmly welcome on your arrival. Then transfer to the hotel for check-in. Enjoy your leisure at the hotel. Lunch at Golden Duck Restaurant (Kan Taw Min Park). After lunch, visit the Nga Htat Gyi Buddha Image, the Chaukhtatgyi Reclining Buddha Image, the National Museum, the hundred-year-old colonial buildings, the Sule Pagoda and its environs. Finally, the tour highlight is the magnificent Shwedagon Pagoda, one of the most wonders of the world. Stop at the entrance of the National Kandawgyi Gardens for photographing. Enjoy Thai buffet and the Myanmar Cultural Show at Kandawgyi Palace. Accommodation: Kandawgyi Palace Hotel or similar.

Day 2. Yangon – Bagan by flight (B)
 
Early morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to Bagan (9th to 13th centuries) which brought in the golden age of Myanmar's art and culture. On arrival in Bagan, continue to Nyaung Oo Market, to experience the lifestyle of the local people; the Shwezigon Pagoda, a prototype of Myanmar stupa; Gubyaukgyi Temple at Wet Kyi In village, a temple with exquisite murals of Jataka scenes, the Htilominlo Temple, which is noted for it's original fine plaster carving; and the U Pali Thein, built by a monk called U Pali in the 13th century. Enjoy your lunch at Sarabha Restaurant. Then check in at the hotel. After a break at the hotel, visit the Ananda Temple, one of the most impressive and exquisite monuments of Bagan; Ananda Okkyaung, the vivid wall paintings of fine workmanship illustrate the life of the ordinary people; the Thatbinnyu Temple to discover the rare form of Buddha image in the highest temple in Bagan; the Dhammayangyi Pahto, the biggest temple of the kind built by King Narathu; and enjoy the splendid sunset atop the Shwesandaw (Sacred Hair Relic) Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in 1057 AD. Tharabar Gateway

Day 3. Bagan – Salay – Mt. Popa – Bagan by car (B)

After breakfast, drive to Salay along a sealed road, which is 35 miles south of Bagan. Salay was the home town of Salay U Ponya who was a famous writer and poet of the Bagan Era You will visit the 125-year old Yoak Sone Kyaung, a masterpiece of monastery construction and woodcarving; and the Nee Paya, woven with the bamboo strips. Afterwards, head for Mount Popa, which is the most important and famous nat (spirit) worship center. On arrival at the bottom of Mt. Popa, you will visit the Maha Giri nat Shrine, one of the major attractions. Then climb 777 steps up to the top of the mountain. You will admire the superb panorama atop the mountain. After that return to Bagan. Lunch en route. Depending on the time, you can enjoy your lunch at Sunset Garden Restaurant. After your lunch, you will visit the Lawka Nanda Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta, is believed that a holy tooth relic was enshrined in the pagoda; lacquer ware workshop; the Seinnyet Ama & Nyima, stand side by side on the road to New Bagan; visit nearby pagodas if time permits; and enjoy the splendid sunset atop the Dhammayazaka Zedi or the Pyathagyi Pagda. Enjoy your dinner at the hotel or at a local restaurant. Accommodation: Bagan Thande Hotel or similar.

Mount Popa

Day 4. Bagan – Mandalay by flight (B)

After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for your flight to Mandalay, the last capital of Konbaung Dynasty and is still the cultural center of Myanmar. On arrival at Mandalay, drive to Amarapura to experience about 1000 monks having their lunch at 10:15 hour at Maha Gandayon Monastery; also stroll through the 1.2 km long U Bein Bridge, which is built across the Taungthaman Lake, and observe 100-shuttle silk-weaving workshop. Lunch at “A Little bit of Mandalay” or at a local restaurant. Then transfer to the hotel for check-in. Afternoon sightseeing includes visit to the Mahamuni Buddha Image, tapestry workshop, gold-leaf makers, bronze castings, Mya Nan San Kyaw Golden Palace, measured two kilometer square and is surrounded by a moat; Shwenandaw Monastery, noted for its fine traditional wood carving; and the Kuthodaw Pagoda, dubbed "the World's Biggest Book", there are 729 standing marble slabs on which are inscribed the entire Buddhist canon / Tripitaka and each slab is housed on its own stupa. Enjoy the superb panorama from the top of Mandalay Hill. Enjoy your dinner at Ko’s Kitchen Restaurant or at a local restaurant. Accommodation: Mandalay Swan or similar.

Lighting Festival At Mahamuni Pagoda

Day 5. Mandalay – Mingun – Ava (Innwa) – Mandalay (B)
 
After breakfast transfer to the jetty for the boat trip to Mingun, situated upstream on the west bank of the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) River, which is famous for the Mingun Bell. It is the biggest ringing bell in the world. Sightseeing includes the Settawya Pagoda, where a foot print of Buddha is enshrined; the five-meter high Pondaw Pagoda, a model of the Pahtodawgyi Pagoda which was left uncompleted, and the beautiful snow-white Mya Thein Tan Stupa with seven wavy terraces around it. In the afternoon, return to Mandalay by boat. Lunch at a local restaurant. Then proceed to Ava by car. Ava had been the capital of a Myanmar kingdom since 1364 AD for nearly 400 years, apart from some brief interludes. Tour highlights include Nan Myint Watch Tower (27 meter high); Maha Aung Mye Bon Zan Monastery (brick-and-stucco monastery), built by Mae Nu, the Chief Queen of King Bagyidaw; the Gaung Say Daga (gate), where kings had their hair ceremonially washed; the Lawkataraphu Pagoda with two figures of a couple of Europeans on a glazed plaque; Bagaya Monastery (Ava), constructed with 267 teak wooden pillars, and traditional iron and clay bowl making workshop. Then return to Mandalay. Enjoy your dinner at Mandalay Hill Resort. Accommodation: Mandalay Swan or similar.


Mingun Bell

Day 6. Mandalay – Heho – Pindaya by flight/car (B)
 
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Heho. On arrival, proceed to Pindaya, the home of Danu and Taung-yo tribes who speak Myanmar. You will stop at Aung Ban, which is a transport junction for cargos and passengers where you will find a lot of hill- tribes selling fruits, vegetables and other produces from the nearby villages. Then continue to Pindaya, which is about 12 miles north of Aung Ban. Check in at the hotel on your arrival. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you will sight-see the beautiful Boutaloke Lake. Then continue to Pindaya Cave where 8000 Buddha images are enshrined in the limestone caves. After that you will visit Shan paper and parasol makers and traditional soy bean curd (Tofu) makers. Free at your leisure at the hotel. Enjoy your dinner at the hotel. Accommodation: Conqueror Hotel or similar.


 

Pindaya Cave

Day 7. Pindaya – Nyaung Shwe – Inle Lake by car/boat (B)
 
After breakfast, set out for Nyaung Shwe. En route, visit Shweyanpyay Monastery with oval-shaped windows built by ancient Shan kings. Then proceed to Nyaung Shwe, the capital city of ancient Shan kings. Transfer to the hotel by boat for check-in. Visit to the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, which is the holiest pilgrimage place in southern Shan State. Lunch at Nam Pan Restaurant. You may visit Nam Pan Market after your lunch. Then visit the Shan weaving workshop, experience people there weaving the yarns from lotus stems into the holy robes; silversmith, ironsmith, cheroot making workshop and Ngahpe Chaung Monastery, also known as “Jumping Cat Monastery”. You can also explore the floating market, unique method of fishing and outstanding leg-rowers which are different from other regions. Enjoy dinner and stay overnight at the hotel. Shan Women

Day 8. Inle – Nyaung Shwe – Heho –Yangon by boat/car/flight (B)

After breakfast, check out the hotel and take a boat ride to Nyaung Shwe, where you will visit Nyaung Shwe market and ethnic tribes. Then set out for the airport for the flight to Yangon. You will have your lunch on your arrival. Then transfer to the hotel for check-in. Afterwards, visit to Bogyoke Market, former Scott Market for souvenirs. You can free your leisure at “Zawgyi House” where you can have some light food and drinks on your own account. Then visit Chinatown to experience the ways of life of oversea Chinese; and the Botahtaung Pagoda, a land-mark of Yangon. Enjoy your dinner at Monsoon Restaurant. Accommodation: Kandawgyi Palace Hotel or similar.

Nyaung Shwe

Day 9. Departure (B)

After breakfast, free at your leisure at the hotel until transfer to the Yangon International Airport for your departure flight.
